Part 1
The magician sat surrounded by his parchments, vials and liquids; signs and symbols inscribed here and there on scraps of paper. Beside him stood a mirror. His gaze turned there and suddenly it changed. As he watched the surface became a blur, turning to liquid before his eyes. Without hesitation he was thrown into the liquid surface of this mirror.
It was a raid on the edge of chaos that he found himself. Bathed in a place of darkness where the sounds of gnashing and cries of pain were paralyzing. On this side of the mirror, there was a world where the panic was at the rendezvous. Captivated by invisible presences and evil, vague shadows were closing in on him as his powerful magic vanishes. What will he do, now drained of its mystical power?
Then he felt under his robe, a warm comfort pressing against his chest. It was the chain and pendant, the "Roche-aux-fées." It was the pendant which had enabled the energy of a protective force rarely equaled. He knew well that he could begin exploring this new world without fear of annihilation. Notebook in hand, it is under the protection of a fairy that the discovery of the unknown will continue.
