Chronicle of the Mirror, part XVI

Prologue
A girl puts her arm out the window. She looks at the moon. Also, from her room, the view of the harbor makes her traveling around the world and thinking. The moon reflects, she said. It reflects sunlight.
A small firefly approaches the window, outside. The young child fixes her gaze on this rainbow light and everything capsizes... The child falls in the light as in a dream.

                                                            ***

Ditratos the white mage, surrounded by piles of books in different formats, is enthralled by his reading. Totally absorbed by these mysterious subjects, he forgets that his companion has left him for a while but here she reappears, dropping a few pinches of magical sparks on the manuscript before him.

Ha! You are here, my little favorite fairy?

Yuna, suspended before the eyes of her immortal friend in its aura of rainbow sky created by the beating of her wings, lays her fists on her hips and says :

I was a little bored, so I invited a friend.

WOOOOW! (With echo)

A small female voice full of wonder is heard from the other side of piles of books. With a puzzled look and knitting his brows, Ditratos is confused and surprised at the same time. It must be said that Yuna often brings a surprise factor in his daily routine. But then an unknown, uninvited young lady, in his fortress of secret knowledge, it is much to accept from the spontaneity of a fairy.

Well, what kind of surprise did you plan this time?

In the same spirit, the mage stands up slowly, looking towards the center of the room, his neck stretched, while careful.

A child?

Motionless and head up to the sphere of eternal light, the latter is her only reality for now. The girl rubs the back of her hands over her eyes and notice the great room surrounded by books. With amazed eyes and ajar mouth, she turns slowly, stomping around, contemplating these walls hiding many mysteries. Her dress stands out in this Gothic decoration. Her young sailor costume with shorts above the knee, ankle boots worn by the walks in the wild, in the middle of the Temple of Wonders, so she marvels.
Her vision is entranced by all these books and scrolls, all around her and even higher still, beyond the darkness far above this special luster. Suddenly she stops spinning, eyes fixed on a great mage dressed in a long white dress who looks at her like a rare animal, the index raised to his chin. On his shoulder, a firefly shines ...

Hey! It's a fairy there!

The child points at the shoulder of the mage. This latter looks at Yuna and sighs. Powerless against the will of a rebel fairy, he leans to the eye level of the young visitor.

Here is Yuna, you're right. She is indeed a little fairy who brings a lot of surprises for those she loves!

The girl raises her arms and speaks to her new friends.

Wow! This time my daydreams took me into an unknown world. Here is your home?

Well, yes, if you want, this is my home, indeed. Hum! It is our Temple of Wonders. Come sit down, I'll explain.

Ditratos guides the girl in an area covered by a Celtic patterned carpet, brown chairs are arranged in a circle around a small table covered with platters of exotic fruits, some cuts copper and water jugs. The young guest, in total confidence, takes an apple, gracefully invited by Yuna flying over the feast.
Comfortably seated, the girl looks up to the luminous sphere that is all alone in the air.

It's magic!

Ditratos agrees with modesty and the girl adds:

That's funny. I watched the moon from my window ... and the men busy on boats ... and a firefly joined me. It’s happening to me often when I think that way.

The girl bites into her apple, watching her guests.

You're about to teach me a lot of mysteries, I think, you two.

Yuna and Ditratos stare at each other with complicity. They recognize the symbol of the apple, the fruit of knowledge, bitten by the dream like curiosity of an exceptional child. The mage understand Yuna’s intention. A young inhabitant of the Earth is about to write her future. Better give her the right tools.

Okay, well, young lady, I am Ditratos the strider. I travel through different worlds, as you do in your dreams. But here you are in the dream worlds, worlds dreamed by the primordial gods.

Ah, ah! I knew it!

The child cuts the mage with her excited voice.

I understand now. Our dreams build our future. It is sure that mythological gods have built us!

The immortal mage raises his eyebrows in surprise to a response as illuminated as this. He looks at Yuna seated on a peach holding one grape on her thighs. She stops in her tracks, her mouth at two hairs from her fruit. Then she remembers:

Ah yes, it's true! Our guest is a great master in dreams. I often met and passed her on Dream World Shores. I think she is mature for a little tour.

Dream World… Shores? Adds the girl.

Wait, wait, my young friend, we'll get to it in a moment.

The white mage pours to himself a cup of cool water.

Except for few visits by Australian aborigines, it is very rare to witness wilful humans from Earth visiting Dream Worlds.

Australia, the continent full of strange animals?

Uh! Yeah, well ... This is another story ... On your earthly home, the only link giving access to the multiverse is ...

The multiverse?

WELL!

Ditratos takes a deep breath, leans on his chair to calm his impatience. He rarely address the curiosity of a child. It is giving him headaches.

Ok,ok! I understand! Multi-universe, multiple universes are known as the multiverse.

Raising his fingers massaging his forehead, a spark of joy shines in the eyes of the mage.

Here, excellent, young lady, keep it! ... To you, the Dream World is the link open to the multiverse. Dream World is the place of manifestation of divine dreams, worlds creators and bearers of dreams like us. This Dream World is visited by entities from the multiverse, either in sleep or by instant inspirations. Several visions are actually experienced and translated by works of art or innovative ideas bringing light to the collective consciousness. During recent Yuna’s dreamlike travels, by her mere ability to interpret this immense forest of symbols rooted in the ocean dream, she feels travelers or visitors from the Earth.

The little firefly I see in my dreams, it's you, Yuna?

Yuna taste the grape, with a positive sign of the head, she found her words:

Sometimes the anonymity of an insect is preferable. But now you're ready to take the next step in your dreams. Continue, dear arcane master.

Hum! ... Yuna, due to her fairy talent, can remain impervious to such presences who passed by and shaped landscapes created like this. These mini universes are the work of supreme beings or even divine ones. Also, some arcane masters were able to create micro-evolving worlds. It is easy to lose our mind due to the multitude of realities created by very different entities from one another.

Out of the corner of his eye, the white mage looks at his young guest. She seems a little confused with this new information. Of his hand, the magician draws signs in the air and immediately above the table, a vision appears measuring at least three cubits deep.

The easiest way to visualize the Dream World is this sphere made of intertwined boughs and continue to grow and branch out in all directions. Thus, each micro-universe becomes bud, each branch becomes world with new shoots. Every creative impulse of the universe is growing fueled by bearers of dreams like us.

Yuna wings rapidly in the center of the sphere. A bubble grows in her hands. Then she opens her arms to the expansion of her founding dream. We see angels flying through cities suspended in the clouds. The bubble leaves the arms of the fairy clinging to a branch of the large plant like sphere. Then another bubble containing diabolical figures nest on another branch. Other balls and images are created and lodge here and there in the multiverse-growing sphere.

Thank you, Yuna, this is an excellent demonstration. By a large number of these carriers of dreams, each creation takes shape and feeds the multiverse with another reality. The growth of this dynamic is infinite.

The storyteller mage stretches his hands towards Yuna and the young student and invites them to come sit on his lap. The young stranger do not hesitate for a moment. Wonder shines in her eyes. Yuna is installed in the hollow of the hands of her young friend now nestled against the chest of the master. A translucent bubble surround them.

Well, now we're all travelers of the multiverse ... There we go!

Ditratos’s hands rely on the transparent surface and all three are transported in these branches of the plant area. Fantastic universes parade alternately while the guide continues with his deep voice:

The thoughts and dreams of the community use symbols to convey their messages. These symbols are intertwined in thought-forms and egregores are created. Like this gods come to life, dream and die in a sea of possibilities. Also, from these islands of divine thoughts, matter takes form, structure of a new universe. This applies to the entire multiverse becoming the divine dream, created by the primordial gods.

Sometimes, before a strange environment populated by aggressive creatures, the girl goes deeper into the folds of the robe of the high mage. But Yuna caress trembling fingertips of her young protegee. And unfurl around them paradise, hell, prehistoric worlds, the world of Gaia, worlds with advanced technology, interstellar spaces crisscrossed with flying ships, underwater peoples, Fomores giants, gods ...

A fairy as Yuna is a master to travel throughout this circus. She knows steer and reach Dream World Shores of a given individual. This dream world is allegorically an ocean in which each holder of dream that we are baths in its own Dream World Shores. These beaches are the points of contact between the conscious and the subconscious, reason and dream, reality and imagination.

The bubble finally lands on a sandy beach and rock formations supporting a dense forest of conifers. Some trees show evidence of rock formations mounted as dolmens and a smell of burning cedar and the sound of some drums announces the proximity of a sacred fire hidden behind the wall of trees. On the other hand, the salt air of the ocean brings with it a mist where visions of great spirits of nature accompanied by a female presence with earthly and divine attributes at once, are drawn.

These are my visions!

The fascinated child points, and the mage taps her on the shoulder with pride.
We are on your Dream World Shores and what I see, fantastic adventures await you in the future.

I have so many things that call me right now!

Yes, my dear, a great mission takes shape in front of you ... um ... and ahead of us too!
Ditratos and Yuna exchange a quick glance at each other with complicity and the little fairy puts her hand on the thumb of her guest:

Tomorrow, if you want, it will be my turn to guide you on your Dream World Shores. It is a fairy knowledge I'll share to you, but first, lets have a little rest. Travel is exhausting!

In one leap, the bubble rises when a wonderful sunrise emerges from the ocean. Ditratos concludes that this overview of the multiverse benefits to himself. In his immortal heart, a window just opened to this daughter of the Earth. Yuna just offered a handsome present to her  mage, an experience more precious than all these stacks of books around him a few moments ago. On the way back, eyes of the mage enjoy seeing Yuna and the dreamy  young one looking at each other. Their heads lean to the left, right, imitating each other in teasing smiles.

Back to the Temple of Wonders, the three friends are very comfortable together. They share a good feast. Laughter and games are also on the menu. On top of the great Gothic hall these laughters are heard echoing. When Yuna playing charades with the child of the Earth, Ditratos raises wet eyes along the rows of mysterious books. He knows that after the rest their prodigy will be the mistress. He returns his attention to Yuna busy entertaining with her new close friend. They are beautiful to look at.
But in all honesty, Ditratos knows that they just interfere with the youth of a human being. He must rely on Yuna’s instinct. The eternal fairy knows how to manage these forays into the life of a human. She has already done this in the past, after all!
Already this dream carrier pushes her sensitivity to infinity. Knowing now that a generous fairy and a father like magician and storyteller witness her visions, the child will survive to adulthood. A sigh of pride swells the chest of the mage.

As soon as the child falls asleep, Yuna joins his immortal friend. Both look at each other while glancing occasionally their guest.

Thank you, Yuna. You gave me a beautiful present. We make a difference now.
I had no doubt on this idea of inviting the girl home. I think tomorrow  will  be a great adventure for us.

TO BE CONTINUED ...
